How does Memocast work?

 

  
Memocast works by bringing you movies from around the world and allowing you to watch first 5 min for free (excluding Prime Time). You can also sign up as a Gold Member (subscription) and watch full movie. Or you can get a 2 Day Pass and watch unlimited amount of movies during that time.

You are able to watch most of our movies simply by clicking on the thumbnail of the movie you choose. You do not need to register or pay anything.

Can I lose weight watching movies on Memocast?  
Absolutely! Now that we have iPod downloads, load movies and music videos onto your iPod and watch it while exercising.       

Do I have to be a Gold Member to download movies?  
No. To download a movie, you just need to be a registered user.      

Do you have a Pay Per View Option?  
Yes, we do. For $2.95, you can purchase a 2 Day Pass to watch (stream) unlimited amount of movies.

How often do new movies get added to Memocast?  
We add about 2-10 movies to our library every day.

Does Memocast have any content other than movies?  
Yes, we have music videos, cartoons, home videos, serials, and documentaries.

Can I watch movies for free?  
Yes, non-members and simple users can watch movies for free first 5 min preview.

How many movies can I watch as a Gold Member?  
As many as you please, our members are not restricted in watching movies in any way.

How many movies can I watch as a Simple Member?  
As many as you please, there are no restrictions to how many or which 5 min preview of movies simple users may watch. 

What is the difference between a Simple Member and a Gold Member?  
Our Gold Members receive the benefit of viewing full movie free of commercial interruptions. Gold Members also receive access to New Releases and Favorites, giving complete access to our library. Gold Members also receive 10 GB of free space to post, publish their own videos and movies.

How do I upgrade from a Simple Member to a Gold Member?  
After having logged-in to your simple user account, click the "Edit Account" tab from the tab menu. From here, click the drop down menu titled "Account Type" and select the "Gold Member ($9.95 per month, 10GB disk space)" Follow the instructions to finalize your upgrade.

Is it legal to download from Memocast?  
All content on Memocast is legal to view and download.

I am a Gold Member. Do I still have to pay for Downloads?  
Yes, Gold Members have to pay indicated price for DVD-quality downloads.

How do I write Russian using English alphabet?  
If you are having trouble finding Russian movies, follow this key to translate Russian letters to English.

How do I find the movie I’m looking for?  
To find a specific movie, type the title in the search box and click “Find It.” To search more specifically, click on “Advanced Search” below the search box to search content with the following fields: Country of Origin, Author, Director, Year, Starring, Language, Category, and movie Rating.  

How do I search for people on Memocast?  

Click on People menu, click on the “Search People” button.   

How do I add a friend on Memocast to share movies with?  

Click on any users name to go to his/her page. Under “User Information,” click “Add to friends.” You will now be able to tag movies and send messages to the user.  

How do I cancel my subscription? 

 
Simply send an email saying “Cancel” with your login name to 
info@memocast.com

Or Find user “Administrator” and send him a message- cancelation request.    
 

Playlist  

How do I create a playlist?   

Click on any movie to go to its details page. On the left side of the Player, you will see a “add to playlist button.” Or + symbol. Click this. Your movie will be added to the playlist.   

How do I view my playlist?  

On the main menu select “My Profile” and Movies, click the “My Playlist” button to see your playlist.   

Publishing

How do I upload a video?  
You have to be logged in order to be able to upload new media.   
(Note: only media with the following extensions are able to be uploaded; AVI, ASF, MPEG, MPG, MP4, WMV, MOV, MOD, RA, RAM, WMS)  
After having logged in, click on “Portfolio” below your login name at the top of the screen. Then click the tab “Upload New Media” from the menu bar. A new upload window will open. Fill in the specified fields in the new window, then click “Upload Media.” Be patient and allow the media to upload.

Which formats am I able to upload?   
Only media with the following extensions are able to be uploaded; AVI, ASF, MPEG, MPG, MP4, WMV, MOV, MOD, RA, RAM, WMS

Now that I uploaded my video, how do I make it public?  
Login. After having logged-in to your Memocast account, you will see a list of media which you have uploaded under the "My Media" tab from the menu bar. Make sure your media uploaded properly by checking to see that the “Ready” status is indicated next to the media. Click "Edit" under the "Action" heading of the media which you would like to make public. Under general info, click the drop down menu titled "State" and select "Public." You must also select the Language and appropriate category for your media in order for other users to be able to search and view your new media. We aslo highly recommend that you select a Country of Origin, Year, and Rating and also fill in all other information boxes in order for other users to be able to search and find your media more quickly and efficiently.

How do I change properties of my video?  
Login. After having logged-in to your memocast account, you will see a list of media which you have uploaded under the "My Media" tab. Click "Edit" under the "Action" heading of the media which you would like to change properties. Fill in the General Info Area which you would like users to know about, and search with to view your media.

How do I add thumbnails? (for previously uploaded content)  
Login. Under your “My Media,” select the video which you would like to add/edit thumbnails for and click the “Edit” button under the “Action” heading. On the right half of the page, you will see a heading titled “Thumbnails.” Click the “Edit” button to the right to begin editing your thumbnails. After being directed to the Edit Page, click and drag the blue tab under the picture to scroll through your video in order to select a thumbnail. After browsing and finding a picture that you wish to post, add a comment if desired then click “Add Thumbnail.” Repeat the process in order to add or delete more thumbnails.

How do I view statistics on how many people watched my video?   
Login. From your account Portfolio, you will see a list of your uploaded videos. Click on the “Edit” button under the “Action” heading located to the very right of your video. After clicking this, scroll down to the end of the page to view your video statistics.

On what date will I be billed every month?  
Your monthly charges depend on the day you signed up. You will be billed each month, 30 days after your signup date.

How do I update my account information?  
After you login, click on “Settings” below your login name. After the Settings page opens, click on the “Edit Account” tab to make changes to your account. To change credit card information, click “Change credit card info” link. This is located next to your account type information.

How do I change my password?  
Login. After you login, you should be directed to your portfolio. If not, click on “Portfolio” located below your login name at the top of the screen. From this page, click on the “Password Change

How do I edit my profile?  
After you login, click on “Settings” below your login name. After the Settings page opens, click on the “My Profile” tab to view and edit your profile.

Are there taxes on movie downloads?  
No, all taxes are included in the stated purchase price.

Are there taxes or other fees in addition to $9.95 per month?   
No, all taxes are included in the $9.95 a month price.

Can I watch streaming movies on my TV?  
Yes, however you will need a “S video” out port from your computer, a “S video” in port to your TV, and a cable to connect the two. 

Can I watch movies using Firefox?  
Yes, you can.  In fact, it's recommended.

Can I download and view your movies on my Mac?  
Yes. Need the same Adobe Flash player.

Watching Movies with Subtitles

 

 

How Do I Watch Movies with Subtitles    

(FOR DOWNLOADED MOVIES ONLY) 

Open your Windows Media Player. (Start, Accessories, Entertainment, Windows Media Player). Click the “Play” tab at the top of the player. After clicking, scroll down and select “Captions and Subtitles.” Then select “On if Available.”     

Secondly, you must also click the “Tools” tab from the menu bar. Then select “Options.” After the Options opens, select the “Security” tab, then click on the checkbox marked “Show local captions when present.”
